The Brief

Arden University's Stratford site is their largest and most significant campus to date — a six-floor new build requiring a complete AV solution across teaching, social, and communal spaces. This was Byond's seventh project for Arden, and by far the most ambitious. The project was delivered alongside appointed main contractor Maris

What We Delivered

48 hybrid teaching rooms across six floors, each fitted with front and rear displays, QSys pendant speakers, and Shure microphone systems enabling both in-room teaching and full remote participation. Digital signage and background audio throughout all common areas. A feature video wall in the entrance lobby . A large breakout space designed for both everyday use and combined-mode events, featuring laser projection, Logitech Microsoft Teams Room systems with PTZ presenter tracking, wireless and wired microphone provision, and QSys audio processing throughout

How We Worked

Byondwere embedded in the Maris build programme from the outset. Our team produced CAD drawings and elevations to define cable tray routes and containment requirements, submitted directly to the main contractor as part of the coordination process. We attended regular site and progress meetings throughout the programme, ensuring AV works were sequenced and integrated cleanly with the wider building trades. No last-minute surprises — just a coordinated programme, delivered as agreed.

The Outcome

Arden University's flagship campus opened with a fully commissioned, building-wide AV environment — from a single hybrid teaching room to a 400-seat combined event space. A seven-project relationship built on consistent delivery, and a site that demonstrates what AV can look like when it is designed in from day one.
